Well, some of it anyway. For all the time it's been getting popular there has only been a sad few anime series and mangas that I'd invest my full interest-and money- in : Akira, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Tomie, Love Hina and Negima! .
And at college most of the people I hang out with play WoW, Ragnarok and Halo ( none of which I own or play), and watch the more popular anime like Naruto, Trigun, Full Metal Alchimest and Hellsing. There's only a couple of guys I know that share my love for Silent Hill and David Lynch's films.
So I finally gave in a couple weeks back and got around to watching some of the animes that my friend Panda was nagging me to see. Here are my brief reviews:
Tenchi Muyo!- As a die-hard Love Hina fan, this one had me in stiches
Trigun- Hilarious, fun and most definitely a must buy.
Elfen Lied- Sad, shocking and bloody as hell... and most importantly, Awesome!
Hellsing- I don't give a rat's ass if the manga is better, this is now my second favorite anime, second only to Evangelion of course. I can't wait for the new series to come out in the U.S. Alucard is the definition of badass!
Naruto- I know that the japanese version of the show is supposed to be better, but even so it's like diarria : The longer I sit there watching it, the more painful and irritating it gets.
Howl's Moving Castle- I haven't seen something this trippy since "Yellow Submarine". I love this movie, but it's one helluva' headtrip. Whatever Hiyao Miyazaki is on, I want some!
And of course, there's also Outlaw Star, Metropolis and many more waiting on my netflix que.
But first, I must watch Cannibal Holocaust before dinner- tonight is meatoaf night, omigahd!!!
